Exemption conditions
To qualify for the IMT and stamp duty exemption, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- be under 35 years of age at the time of the transaction;
- not be considered dependent for Income Tax (IRS) purposes;
- not own any residential property or part thereof at the time of the transaction and for three years prior to the transaction;
- the value of the residential property being acquired does not exceed €660,982.00.
* A full exemption from municipal transfer tax and stamp duty applies if the buyer meets the above criteria and the value of the property being acquired does not exceed €330,539.00.
